Hale Village's - Merseywave's Kathryn Wins In Merseysides Women Of The Year 2016

Kathryn Rudge Winner of The David M Robinson Arts & Culture Award
Liverpool born Kathryn is one of the UK’s leading young opera singers and in 2012 she founded Mersey Wave Music a community based group in South Liverpool which initially formed a mixed adult choir/young singers group.
She believes that music should be accessible to everyone and is passionate about bringing music making opportunities into the heart of Merseyside communities. Mersey Wave Concert initiative commenced with Kathryn herself performing with the choirs in St Ambrose church in the heart of the Speke Community. The project has enriched so many people’s lives and has been a resounding success with a 70 strong community choir and audiences of over 400 attending concerts.
She was The Times Rising Star of Classical Music 2012, is currently a BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist and has been nominated in the Young Artist category of the Royal Philharmonic Society Awards 2016.
